Memorabilia

Worcester Memorabilia is held in various places. Chatham, Royal Maritime Museum at Greenwich and of course, I am sure our own Michael Wheeler has some stashed away getting under his feet. I am informed by Roger that is not the case now. All the memorabilia that was under his feet is now in Chatham. I am sure he is right upset about that change of circumstances. No wonder he is smiling in the photo below!

There has been a lot of work carried out by OWs and Council to try to find somewhere more permanent to store these items.

Some may recall that due to the efforts of the committee members of the Portsmouth Reunion, many items were brought to Portsmouth and displayed very successfully in the Royal Maritime Club.

In June 2014 the three Amigos - Trevor Pollitt, Michael Wheeler and Roger Boatman went to Chatham Dockyard to deliver and record the Worcester Memorabilia that is now held in safe keeping there. Kindly assisted by Helen Crowe who is the Collections and Documentation Assistant for the Dockyard Trust and has responsibility for its library and archives.

Although not ideal, I have tried to display the items as best I can on our web site. At the very least it is designed to be a record of Worcester artefacts. If anyone has any comments or corrections, please contact me.

It would appear that the Worcester II and III figurehead is held at the Royal Maritime Museum. No picture though HERE

The Three Amigos - Trevor Pollitt, Roger Boatman, Michael Wheeler and Helen Crowe who works at Chatham and assisted the Three Amigos. Probably did all the work !

Thanks goes to all four - A very good effort.
